Geometry Wars 3 is a twin stick shooter, meaning you move with one joystick and shoot with the other.  It plays a lot like the Super Stardust games.  Each level has a defined set of enemies and a rating system for how well you play.

You are able to earn currency which you can spend to upgrade your "turret" and secondary fire.  For each level you might be able to use your  secondary weapon two or three times, and your turret is always around.  Perhaps you want your turret to shoot extra bullets, or maybe you'd prefer it to circle around you and destroy any enemy it touches.

There are many levels to this game (over 100) and each one is unique.  There are also a wide variety of enemies that each have their own behavior.  It was difficult to get good screenshots of this game because if I took my fingers off the controls to take a screenshot then I'd probably die.  All in all I thought the game was fun and played it quite a lot, but I still prefer the tighter gameplay of the Stardust series.
