Titan Attacks!

If you like Space Invaders you'll probably like Titan Attacks!  The gameplay between the two games is similar, but Titan Attacks! has some RPG elements - namely that you can upgrade your ship as you progress through the levels.  Unlike many games, the upgrades in Titan Attacks! feel quite substantive; that is, your ship (tank?) feels noticeably more powerful with each upgrade.

One aspect of this game that I really like is that you only have one life.  You could be playing for over an hour but once you die, that's it.  I think it adds a lot of tension and encourages strategic gameplay rather than playing it wild and risky.  I really enjoyed it!

These enemies move back and forth and move down a row when they hit the edge of the screen - just like Space Invaders.
