My Singing Monsters PS Vita

I've placed my monsters next to things that make them happy - this way they'll produce money more quickly. I've also put to sleep the one's I don't want to hear. You can mix and match the song this way.

There are a few different lands, each with their own tone. This is a land I'd recently unlocked, so I of course need to spend resources to clear some open area.

I build a "Unity Tree" so that monsters gain the benefits of being close to their favorite objects without actually being close to them. I chucked a bunch of stuff in a shed.

After you clear away a tree or rock, you get a little XP boost. Sounds like most games like this, eh?

These giant green guys are way more productive than the rest of the monsters, but are expensive and take awhile to get.

I've maxed out this islands productivity! What have I done with my life!

You can feed the monsters food to increase their level. Once they are maxed out, you can move them to the golden island where . . . they can be instead.

My Singing Monsters

This free Vita game takes a similar approach to many mobile games.  It uses the following structure: create monster, wait for it to generate funds, use funds to build or upgrade monster, wait for upgrade or gestation, make more money with your better monsters, wait; repeat 5,000 times.  I normally find these games unbelievably un-fun and stay far away from them; the skill required basically involves waiting or spending real money - neither of which are real skills.

However, this game has one main thing going for it - all of the monsters you create (breed and hatch, actually) have a different musical part in a song.  I found it tempting to get more monsters in order to hear more.  There are also multiple levels, and each monster will have a different tune depending on which level they're on.

For the life of me I'm not really sure why I got sucked into this particular game, but I did.  It's a little embarrassing, actually!
