Murasaki Baby features a baby with an upside-down head.  You control this character by holding her hand with your finger via the touch screen.  She is on a quest to find her mother and you help her avoid danger by guiding her along.  The game is probably best described as a puzzle game because there isn't much in the way of action or platforming.

Props to the game developers for creating a unique gameplay experience and for taking some risks, but the game has some poor design decisions that made it less enjoyable.  For example, I understand that there is an important, story-related reason that you guide the baby by dragging your finger across the screen, but man it's an annoying way to advance through a game.  I mean, dragging your finger back and forth on a screen is so much less convenient than just using the joystick.  This comes with all of the other limitations of primarily using touch controls, such as that my massive hands covered much of the screen throughout the game.  Come to think of it, most - if not all - of my complaints about this game have to do with poor controls.

The game has a unique art style which lends itself to the dark humor of the game.  There aren't many actual words spoken, but rather the characters get their message across through their gestures and simple noises.  There is a story in the game with somewhat of a payoff at the end, but really the game is about navigating the baby safely through each level.

All in all I didn't think it was a bad game, but I didn't think it was a great game either.  Control issues are usually a very big deal for me, and unfortunately this game suffers from some control pitfalls.
