The little robot can bring you back to life if you fall down a pit. At the cost of some health, of course.

There are some temporary power-ups, such as this red light making your gun produce double the kickback.

You can shoot once from the ground and one more time in the air, so you can cross pretty big gaps.

Kick and Fennick

Kick and Fennick is a relatively short puzzle game for the PS3 and Vita.  You play as a young boy who happens upon a humongous gun.  The gun has enormous kickback and, though you can shoot robots with it, its main purpose is to fling you around (when guns are fired in real life they push back into your hand - the bigger the gun and bullet, the bigger the push back).  It's a game mechanic that I haven't encountered before and it was fun to be introduced to something fresh.  There was a learning curve to aiming in the opposite direction I wanted to move, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly.

The game itself primarily involves navigating crumbling structures and simply trying to get to the end of the level.  Minor new gameplay elements are introduced throughout the game, but using the huge gun is the main gameplay mechanic.  There is a bit of a story to the game but for the life of me I can't remember what it is.  I think you have to take down a mean robot.

Overall, I thought the game was original enough to warrant a full play though and I found it enjoyable.  I started to get a bit bored towards the end of the game but I'd still recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience.
